The Orangery project | 2020

This project proposed to reestablish an original orangery that was placed on this part of the site in 1910. The proposed orangery is roughly 95 m2 and is located on the south elevation. The purpose of this extension is to create a more usable space adjacent to the kitchen and create a connection to the beautiful gardens. The two separate volumes were created to emulate what was there previously and to create a separate dining area. The decorative roof lanterns have a hint of blue glass, which is a nod to the roof lights in the kitchen area which once was the ballroom. The style intention was to tie the extension's aesthetic into the beautiful Italian style country house which was built in 1840. All materials chosen for the project were carefully selected to ensure that they integrated into the existing building in the ambition of this orangery appearing like it was always there.

The project was due on site in 2020 but due to covid-19, the project has been delayed.

Stage: under construction and due for completion June 2021
